Legislative Services

"When you are afraid, when you are angry, when you allow a fear and anger to shape policies, you will abuse other human beings, you will treat people unfairly and you will create injustice."

Bryan Stevenson

About Legislative Services

The Legislative Services Department of the Policy and Outreach Division monitors all legislative and policy activity relevant to criminal and juvenile justice issues. Serving as the connection between OPD and the General Assembly, the Legislative Services Department testifies in Senate and House of Representatives committees, staffs various policy-driven groups, and advocates for policy and legislative change to improve Ohio’s criminal justice system. The Legislative Services Department also strives to keep OPD staff members informed of legislative and policy changes.
